Why choose a bilingual officiant in France?
France is a dream destination for couples from across the world — the UK, the US, Australia, Italy, Scandinavia. Many of you have guests who speak little or no French at all. And yet you want the ceremony to feel grounded, authentic, meaningful.
A bilingual ceremony — in English and French, or English and Italian, or all three — gives everyone a seat at the table. It gives the opportunity to bring together two cultures, two ways of speaking and living, and two families to get to know each other, without anyone being left behind… It allows everyone to be swept up in the emotion and really share a joyful, memorable moment together.
Who I am
My name is Emmanuelle Ricard. I am a French author, storyteller, singer, and actress — and a wedding officiant with over a decade of experience. I celebrate ceremonies in French, English, and Italian.
Your ceremony has to be so much more than an authentic, meaningful moment: it has to be entirely, uniquely yours — a true reflection of who you are and your story.
I will dive into your story with all my heart. I will interview each of you separately with deep attentiveness — this is essential! — to uncover the real story and those tiny details that make you who you are, and why your partner loves you so deeply. Then, I will write your ceremony with my finest writing skills.
Depending on the package you choose, these two in-depth interviews can be enriched by conversations with your loved ones (your closest friends, parents, siblings, or children…) — anyone who would love to talk with me, share anecdotes, express their affection, and celebrate the precious moments they’ve shared with you.
Where I travel
Anywhere in France — Provence, the French Riviera, Paris and Île-de-France, Bordeaux and its vineyards, the Alps, Normandy, Corsica — and Switzerland. And beyond: I travel internationally whenever there’s a genuine connection — because in the end, it’s always a matter of feeling.
Distance is never an obstacle. Your story is worth the journey.
What a destination wedding ceremony with me looks like
We will meet (in person or by video call) for in-depth preparation interviews — one with each of you. I will ask you many questions, but above all, I will follow where your memory and thoughts lead us.
Then, I will write a 45- to 75-minute ceremony (depending on the package you choose) — filled with rhythm, warmth, humor, and poetry, always aligned with your wishes and your sensitivity. I will weave musical excerpts of your choice into the text, to allow space to breathe and guide the emotion. All of this so you can experience an unforgettable, wonderful moment that you will cherish for a lifetime.
Symbolic rituals can also be included if you wish.
As you may have gathered, I never work from templates or questionnaires. I prioritize spontaneous conversation: it is far more alive, allows us to go much deeper, and lets all those little details spring up — the thousand and one things that make a relationship, a person, and a life so rich and unique.
